Zeiss Otus lenses are known for their stunning, high quality images, their robust build and flawless mechanics. That being said, they are photography lenses and are not designed for cinematic use. For cinematographers who want to capture Zeiss Otus quality images, we have designed the perfect solution.

Introducing the Cine-Mod Otus:

The first feature of the Cine-Mod Otus is the contoured 95mm front ring which is designed, machined, anodized and engraved by Duclos Lenses. We also include a Zeiss 95mm front cap to accompany the front ring.

The next feature (and the inspiration for this modification) is the enhanced focus scale with integrated focus gear. The small focus markings window on top of the lens is not ideal for pulling focus, so we machine, anodize and engrave a custom scale with an integrated gear for smoother operation. This will make you and your AC happy.

The next magnificent feature is a custom-cut iris gear. This gear is modeled the same as our focus gears that come with our standard Cine-Mod. It is custom cut from hard acetyl material which makes it durable and long-lasting.

Finally, we come to our last feature: the aperture de-click. This may seem like a simple process but to properly de-click a lens you need experience, knowledge of the lens, patience and a precise hand. When a lens is de-clicked it feels dry and rough. To counter this, we add a high-grade grease to give it a smooth cinematic feel.

The Cine-Mod OTUS allows you to capture Zeiss Otus quality images with a cinematic functioning lens. You can also add a Canon EF mount conversion. This mount is designed, manufactured and installed by Duclos Lenses.
